The Time Spiral is one of Ernő Bartha’s most complex works, seamlessly blending visual monumentality with the evocative power of sound. Equipped with a motion sensor and an integrated sound system, the installation responds interactively to its audience: as one passes beneath its monumental arch, the sculpture instantly comes to life.
Nature in the City: Originally conceived to bring the serenity of the wild into the urban fabric, the sculpture emits the sounds of birdsong and forest whispers. The organic scent of hay combined with these digital echoes creates a multisensory “acoustic oasis” within the concrete jungle.
Echoes of the Olympics – London Pleasure Gardens: The concept’s international versatility was showcased during the London 2012 Olympic Games. Installed at the London Pleasure Gardens, the sculpture’s natural soundscape was replaced by hundreds of authentic victory commentaries and cheers. Passing under the spiral, visitors were enveloped in waves of human triumph, turning the piece into a living monument of a historic moment.
